VISALIA, CA - The Redwood Rangers asserted their dominance on the gridiron Friday night, securing a decisive 35-12 home victory over the Tulare Western Mustangs in a non-conference matchup. The Rangers were off to a rocky start as the Mustangs scored in two plays, but controlled most of the game, consistently finding the end zone while stifling the Mustangs' offensive efforts.

Redwood’s offense was a multi-faceted attack, with both the passing and rushing games proving effective. Quarterback Luke Sanchez (Sr) led the air assault, completing 11 of 13 passes for 195 yards and three touchdowns. His favorite target, Jairus Brooks (So), had a stellar night with 5 receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown. Other receiving touchdowns were hauled in by Cash Lovenburg (Jr) and O. Richardson (Jr). The ground game was equally productive, with Jimmie Burk (Sr) leading the team in rushing with 66 yards and a touchdown, while Adrian Melgar (Jr) added 39 yards on 6 carries. Luke Sanchez also contributed a rushing touchdown of his own.

On the defensive side, Redwood was stout, holding Tulare Western to just 12 points. The Rangers' defense tallied three sacks, with Haden Mancour (Jr), Vicente Soto (Sr), and Jacob Carvalho (Sr) each getting to the quarterback. The secondary also made plays, with Nathan Gonzalez (Jr) and Jimmie Burk (Sr) each intercepting a pass.

For Tulare Western, quarterback JUJU Hernandez (So) threw for 187 yards and a touchdown, but the team struggled to find a consistent offensive rhythm. Preston Seechan (Sr) was a bright spot, scoring the Mustangs' only touchdown on a rush.

The Rangers took control of the game early, scoring 7 points in the first quarter and extending their lead to 21-6 by halftime. They put the game out of reach with a 14-point third quarter. Tulare Western added a late touchdown in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to mount a comeback.

With the victory, the Redwood Rangers improve their record to 2-2 for the season. The Tulare Western Mustangs fall to 3-1.
